Non Destructive Testing

TESCA operates a full capability NDT inspection service using the following NDT methods:

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
The ultrasonic testing is a nondestructive method, in which a sonic beam of high frequency (125 KHz to 20 MHz) is introduced in the material to be inspected with the aim of detecting internal and superficial discontinuities. The technique is also commonly used to determine the thickness of the test object, for example, to monitor pipework corrosion.

Eddy-current testing (ET)
Eddy-current testing uses electromagnetic induction to detect flaws in conductive materials
Eddy-current testing can detect very small cracks in or near the surface of the material, the surfaces need minimal preparation, and physically complex geometries can be investigated. It is also useful for making electrical conductivity and coating thickness measurements.

This form of testing relies on the attraction of magnetic particles to the flux leakage when an eddy current is passed through the material, this is an indication of the flaws existence, this flux leakage is caused by the flaw in the ferromagnetic material for which is being tested

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
The Magnetic Particle Inspection method of Non-Destructive testing is a method for locating surface and sub-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic material. It depends for its operation on the face that when the material or part under test is magnetized, discontinuities that lie in a direction generally transverse to the direction of the magnetic field, will cause a leakage field, and therefore, the presence of the discontinuity, is detected by use of finely divided ferromagnetic particles applied over the surface, some of these particles being gathered and held by the leakage field, this magnetically held collection of particles forms an outline of the discontinuity and indicates its location, size, shape and extent.

Penetrant Testing (PT)
Liquid Penetrant Testing(PT)-Test objects are coated with visible or fluorescent dye solution.
Excess dye is then removed form the surface, and a developer is applied. The developer acts as blotter, drawing trapped penetrant out of imperfections open to the surface.
With visible dyes. vivid color contrasts between the penetrant and developer make"bleedout" easy to see. With fluorescent dyes, Ultraviolet light is used to make the bleedout fluoresce brightly, thus allowing imperfections to be readily seen.

Visual Testing (VT)
Non-Destructive visual inspections can be preformed on-site or at the laboratory facility, and are based upon the requirements of the client or specification. Industries utilizing this service include Fabrication, Construction, Automotive, Power Generation and Transportation. Inspections can be performed at the laboratory facility or onsite. These inspections are performed to IS, BS, ASTM, AWS, ASME (American Society for Mechanical Engineers) and many others

In addition we realised certifications of Load up to 80 ton with digital equipment and specialized personnel. We count on equipment for the accomplishment in site of tests of: Hardness, roughness, Temperature, Infrared Thermographic Services, Vibration, Balance, Locate Stress Relief, Hydrostatic Tests and Currents Holliday
